The president of the Law Society of Kenya, Nelson Havi has recently, shifted his attention from president Uhuru Kenyatta and told Kenyans where they can direct their frustrations too. In his remarks havi claimed that the Parliament of Kenya is to be held responsible and solely be blamed for allowing oppressive and unconstitutional directives in the name of combating Covid-19.
He claimed that it has not enacted Pandemic Response and Management Act as required by Section 104 (e) of the Health Act. The Health Act states that the Cabinet Secretary shall within three years of operation of this Act ensure the enactment of legislation that provides for among other things.
Some of the key areas that were highlighted included, health tourism, ways of disposing waste, the protection of privacy and the collection and use of personal health information. Other important issues were the management and disclosure of personal health information.
