Along with his deputy Rigathi Gachagua, President William Ruto has started a two-day working tour of the Nyanza region, starting today in Homabay county.
Photos released by the presidential team show the president meeting with elected officials, including Gladys Wanga, governor of Homabay, and Millie Odhiambo.
Once Millie was nominated to parliament in 2008 by the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party, she quickly became a public figure. In 2013, she won the election as the representative for Suba North. She practices law and fights for the rights of children. Odhiambo is known for being an outspoken member of the Kenyan parliament.
People on the internet noticed President Ruto chatting happily with Millie Odhiambo, and they posted about it all over the internet.
Here are a few examples of the wide range of responses I've seen to the photos:
Lucy: This is the way to go because we are better together🙏
Fred: That's a forced smile from Hon.Maboma millie.
