The residents of Nyeri who came in droves at Othaya town to show support to Deputy President William Ruto changed tune after a vocal Tangatanga politician stood to address them.

Chinga MCA Kiruga Thuku was heckled by a section of the crowd while others motioned him to stop and pave way for other leaders to speak.

Thuku, who is eyeing Othaya parliamentary seat, was trying to woo voters to support his bid to dislodge the incumbent MP Gichuki Mugambi who is allied to Kieleweke faction of the Jubilee Party.

"Hatumtaki huyo! Akae chini...nyang'anya yeye microphone," the locals told Ruto who had introduced Thuku to them. Watch the VIDEO here.

The MCA is an ardent supporter of Ruto and has been campaigning massively for UDA through public forums and vernacular TV and radio stations such as Inooro TV and Coro FM.

Thuku was among local leaders who claimed allies of ODM leader Raila Odinga had hired goons to disrupt Ruto's programme in Nyeri.

"Some of those people you paid yesterday to come and cause chaos in our meeting are UDA Party diehards and spilled all the beans!" he posted on Facebook.

"You did your meetings, we never interrupted them; and that's the basic reciprocation we expect from you! Period! Karibu sana Othaya the 5th," Thuku added.
