Azimio MPs have told President William Ruto to give Raila funds to run the office of the leader of opposition. The Raila’s allies argue that the money will help Raila in carrying out his day to day activities.
Raila and his team want his office to be run by the ex-chequer. The leader of opposition also wants to be given a chance to address the parliament every year like the President usually does.

Among other demands that are being fronted by Raila is to be given a chance to nominate individuals to statutory commissions. Currently only the president is allowed to nominate people to such commissions.
A section of Kenya Kwanza MPs have already agreed to those demands while others say that will be giving Raila too much. Parliament’s Majority Whip Silvanus Osoro has told his party members in Kenya Kwanza that Raila has done a lot for this country and he deserves all that he is demanding.
“Raila got more than 6 million votes and it is advisable to give him a great office where he can operate from as he puts our government in check. The efforts he has made for Kenya needs to be rewarded,” Osoro has said.
