Alleged Battles Inside Ruto's UDA Party Revealed

United Democratic Alliance is a Kenyan party which came into limelight in 2020 when the then Party of Democracy and Reforms was renamed .The party is linked to the country's deputy president, Dr William Ruto and his allies allege that he will be using it to run for presidency.

The party has been engaging in major activities including popularization and registration of members ahead of the 2022 elections. The latest activity was the nomination of the party's National Executive Council which will oversee and deliberate on major undertakings of the party .

However, according to the Standard Newspaper, the appointment of the 34-membered council triggered disagreements within the party . Members have allegedly declined to accept the appointments despite calls from the party chairman, Johnstone Muthama .

This revelation comes with just a few months remaining to the party nominations which are due to be held between January and April . Much are expected to be deliberated by the council before the August general elections.
