Politicians have been warned against using the youth to cause chaos as the campaign period looms.

Speaking after a voter sensitization exercise Dr.Philip Munyao also warned the youth to reject such offers.

He said that for ages politicians have forgotten about the youth who are languishing in joblessness and drug abuse.

However, during elections, they contract youths to cause chaos.

"Let every leader vying for an elective seat ensure they practice peaceful campaigns," he said.

He also called upon politicians to sensitize the youths to participate in voting and electing leaders of their choice.

Munyao called for them to also not be afraid and vie for seats in the upcoming elections.

He also called for the office of the registry to expedite giving out identification cards to facilitate voter registration.

Also, the chief and their assistants were asked to ensure the identification cards in their possession reach the owners.

Residents at Tala who spoke to Opera News said that their focus on the type leader is not determined by age but the intention to change the constituency.

"We have seen no one else who can do that other than Dr.Philip Munyao who has been so keen on issues affecting the youth locals in general," said a resident.
