Azimio la Umoja Raila Odinga's planned demonstrations have elicited a range of reactions.
Nandi County Senator Samson Cherargei has accused Raila of plotting to force a handshake with President William Ruto.

Cherargei claims that the planned protests are a plot by Raila to force a handshake with Ruto in order to form a grand coalition government. He has, however, stated that there will be no handshake between President Ruto and the opposition leader.
"The planned Maandamo by Tinga/ Azimio-OKA is a ruse for a forced handshake / Nusu mkate government with H.E RUTO government, which SHALL NOT HAPPEN! Ni kazi, Kazi "Senator Samson Cherargei stated this.

Cherargei's claims come ahead of Azimio's major rally at Nairobi's Kamukunji Grounds to solicit public opinion on the move to oust four Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) commissioners for alleged misconduct in the August 9th elections.
