President Responds To A Young Man Who Asked Him About The Free WiFi And Call Rates He Promised.

William Ruto during an SMEs, Cooperatives and Revenue Expo in Embu University told the residents that he has installed free WiFi in embu market and at the stage in a bid to fulfil his campaign pledge of affordable call and data rates.

In a response to a young man who questioned him about the promise of cheap call rates and bundles, the presidents said that the government has already identified and installed 48 hotspots countrywide. The president further asserted that his administration is committed to install 25,000 hotspots countrywide to facilitate cheap communication among Kenyans.

"I have seen a young man somewhere asking me where the cheap bundles are? I want to respond to him that plans for free WiFi are on place. We have already installed 48 WiFi hotspots in Kenya. Our commitment is to make sure we have identified 25,000 hotspot in every part of Kenya"

The president highlighted that the government's free WiFi will ensure that Kenyans will communicate cheaply. He also added that the free WiFi will facilitate e-commerce and Kenyans will do business online.

"This will ensure that a Kenyan will use his phone free from worried that he doesn't have bundles or credit for calls. Also, this will facilitate e-commerce whereby people will do business online"

The president during his campaign period promised Kenyans that his government will ensure that free WiFi will be available in public spaces to reduce the cost of communication.
