The former Nairobi governor Mike Sonko today has suffered a fresh blow after the Mombasa county court made a ruling. The court has denied the petitioner from with drawing the case he had presented to the court.
The petitioner claims that he lately learned that the impeachment processor Sonko was driven political and not as she thought initial that it was accordance to the constitution.
While making a determination on Tuesday, May 24, Justice John Mativo declined a prayer by the petitioner, Ndoro Kayuga, to withdraw the petition, stating that his plea did not meet the required standards to have the matter withdrawn.
Sonko case now will proceed and the judgement will be made after the required process has been undergone. Sonko is faced with corruption allegations from his previous office where he operated as the county Governor of Nairobi. He was later impeached from the position due to misuse of the funds and the office.
