EALA MP Hon Florence Jematia Sergon from Kimalel, Baringo South Sub-County has declared interests to vie for Baringo Women Representative seat in the forthcoming general elections.
The East African Legislative Assembly legislator who will be facing off with the incumbent Hon Gladwell Cheruiyot of Kanu, made the declaration in Sabor, Baringo South on Sunday August 15 while addressing locals remotely through a phone call from Arusha Tanzania.
In the recent past Hon Jematia was seen to be among the contenders for Baringo South Constituency seat which is currently held by Hon Charles Kamuren.
The MP is known for her close political ties with Deputy President William Ruto, a relationship that dates back to 2011 during the formation of United Democratic Movement (UDM) which later rebranded to the then popular outfit in Rift Valley -the United Democratic Party (URP).
Florence Jematia Sergion is among Jubilee's nominees for East Africa Legislative Assembly (EALA).
Florence, who is a Jubilee Party Official and a board member at Rural Electrification (REA), becomes the only nominee from Baringo joining another 14 individuals including prominent names like Mutea Iringo.
The nominees will be vetted and later be approved or be rejected by the National Assembly.
