Moses Masika Wetangula who is the Ford Kenya party leader and also the Senator for Bungoma County yesterday while attending a funeral in Bungoma county used the opportunity to address the county about the covid-19 funds.
Moses Wetangula said that him together with speaker of the Senate speaker feel embarassed because of the issue of counties embezzling funds set aside to fight coronavirus in the country.
He defended himself by saying that he doesn't critisize the governor maliciously but it is just that they feel ashamed since it is the Senate that watches how the governor's uses the county funds and the fact that he was once the Senate minority leader and the Senate speaker comes from Bungoma county.
The county government of Bungoma is allegedly said to be unable to account for the covid-19 funds hence showing that they misused the funds.
Moses Wetangula called upon the whole county government to use the resources appropriately or else they will face the wrath of the Senate during auditing process,he will involve the speaker on keeping the county government of Bungoma led by Governor Wycliffe Wangamati under supervision to ensure there is equality and fairness in using of the county governments.
Speaker Lusaka has also supported the Wetangula's idea of ensuring counties utilize resouces with a lot of accountability and that governors should not view it as being malicious but their role as senators.
