Didmus Barasa: Why Ruto Appointed Moses Kuria As Trade CS Even Though Kuria Refused To Join UDA

Ex Gatundu South lawmaker Moses Kuria is now the cabinet secretary for Trade and Industry in President Ruto’s administration.

Kuria contested for and was defeated in the Kiambu gubernatorial race at the August 9 election.

The Chama Cha Kazi party boss said he would gone back to the private sector after 8 years of public service as lawmaker.

Kuria is a close friend of President Ruto even after he refused to join the United Democratic Alliance in the run-up to the August presidential elections.

However, revealing why Moses Kuria was appointed as the new Cabinet Secretary of Trade and Industry, Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa said this.

According to Barasa, the former gubernatorial aspirant understands the economic policies of Kenya Kwanza Alliance.

He also acknowledged the outstanding work undertaken by Kuria to his residents over the eight he served as an MP.

"The reason why Moses Kuria was nominated as the CS Trade is that he is well conversant with the economic policies of Kenya Kwanza Alliance." Didmus Barasa said.

He also added that President Ruto had exuded confidence that kuria will lead the Trade and Industry docket well.

Barasa disclosed saying that the President told the people of Kenya to dismiss Kuria's past misgivings, adding that he's an intellect who would change the sector.

Kuria, is one of the 22 Cabinet appointees were sworn into office last week days after getting the nod of the National Assembly Vetting Committee.
