Judiciary Service Commission had a long time and tiresome for the last ten days. The country is on the verge of getting a suitable person who will replace retired CJ David Maraga. All ten candidates were vetted by the JSC panel. They entail Chitembwa Juma, David Marete, Fred Ngatia, Martha Koome, Patricia Mbote, Ouko William, Nduma Nderi, Philip Murgor, Moni Wekesa, and Yano Alice. All the contestants had equal chances before the JSC panel.
The battle for the chief justice takes a new twist after Kiminini Member of Parliament honorable Chris Wamalwa shortlisted his preferred candidates for Chief Justice. According to him, he has wished the JSC could only shortlist three candidates that are Martha Koome, William Ouko, and Fred Ngatia. He has disclosed that the JSC wasted their time while interviewing the rest. He added that the above three candidates are conversant with the entire Judiciary system as compared to the rest.

The JSC in rush to come up with the right person to be the next CJ, as our country approaches the next general elections.
