Everything in Kenya today seems to be revolving around politics. The move by the President to have the Kenya Meat Commission be headed by the Kenya Defence Forces elicited mixed reactions amongst Kenyans.
The President who now seems to have more trust in the defense forces has been in the recent past appointing senior security officers into the public offices. Controversial Major General Badi was appointed to head the Nairobi Metropolitan Services. Former Chief of Defense General Samson Mwathethe now chairs the Blue Economy.
However, Kenyans among them the embattled senator Millicent Omanga who was recently expelled from the ruling outfit for allegedly gross misconduct are keen to see that the offices meant for civilians are practically held by the civilians and not the security forces.
Taking to her twitter handle, the nominated senator hailed the courts move to have the Kenya Meat Commission be headed by the civilians and not the Kenya Defence Forces. She now claims that only the courts are the last hope for Kenyans in upholding of the rule of law and restoring the patriotism of the military to the nation.
