Members of Parliament from the Former President Uhuru Kenyatta's Jubilee Party have threatened to exit the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Alliance after the Orange Democratic Movement, ODM 'shortchanged' them in the slots allocated to the minority in the Parliamentary Service Commission, PSC.
In a press statement on Thursday, the MPs led by nominated MP Sabina Chege, Eldas MP Adan Keynan and Laikipia North MP Sarah Korere among others protested move to remove a Jubilee member in the list that was approved by the National Assembly.
The list has Mavoko MP Patrick Makau representing the Wiper Party, and Likoni MP Mishi Mboko and Nyamira Senator Okongo Omogeni representing the ODM party.
Jubilee had nominated Sirisia MP John Walukhe, before Isiolo Senator Fatuma Dullo was also listed, but the two were removed from the list.
Korere argued that the party will not accept to be shortchanged, saying that they can willingly leave the Azimio coalition.
"We are very saddened by the political antics by our partners in Azimio. We were not coerced to join Azimio. We joined willingly and we will leave willingly because we have witnessed political banditry first hand," she said.
With the Jubilee MPs protesting the process, Wetangula said that the party made the claims when the house had already approved the names.
"The horse has already bolted and the stable is already closed, my hands are tied with [the] law."
