One such spot which has become clear is the youthful generation in Kenyan. This is evident in recent promises issued by political bigwigs which target the youth .
Presidential hopefuls like the deputy president, Dr William Ruto promised to transform the economy from the bottom. This essentially points at the youth indirectly since they comprise the majority at the bottom.
Raila Odinga on the other hand promised to consider youth especially the unemployed once he ascends to power. He recently made a vow that he will pay 6000 shillings to every unemployed youth during his reign.
But have you ever asked yourself why these leaders focus on youth ? These could be the possible reasons.
1 . Numbers.
Youth make up the highest percentage of Kenyan voters . For this reason , political suitors are forced to bank their political career in them. They either choose to make it successful or fail you terribly.
Besides, the number of voters expected to participate in 2022 general elections is also expected to shoot owing to the high number of Kenyans who crossed the 18 years mark over the last 4 years .
The youths are the ones who are facing acute challenges which are mainly employment related . Lack of employment renders youth to a situation of accepting anything that comes your way .
