Police Chase Away Karatina Residents Who Were Chanting Ruto, Gachagua Names After Invading Gov't land

Barely a week after DP William Ruto and his deputy Rigathi Gachagua were pronounced as the winners of the 2022 presidential election, the two legislators have had their name tanished even before they have taken official oath of office.

According to news making headlines on August 17 2022, a group of residents from Karatina Nyeri were chased away by police officers after invading government land while chanting the duos name.

According to the source the group was chanting slogan "freedom is coming" a phrase that Ruto and Gachagua were using while they were selling their agenda to the public during their campaigns.

Upon interrogation, the police discovered that Gachagua had allegedly promised them the piece land owned by the Kenya Railways Corporation.

While the group of the young men were walking away, they warned that they would return to reclaim the land once the duo are officially sworn in to office.
