As the leader of the Azimio party, Raila Odinga, takes to the streets to defend them, IEBC vice chair Juliana Cherera has joined Justus Nyangaya in resigning from the ailing commission.
Cherera wrote a brief letter of resignation to the country's leader, William Ruto, noting that despite her diligent service to the commission, it had been misapprehended. William Ruto has received a message from Cherera in which she expresses gratitude for the chance to help the people of Kenya. Even so, many think that her expression of gratitude was misguided because Uhuru Kenyatta, the head of state at the time she joined the commission, was the proper person to thank.
"I sincerely appreciate the opportunity given to me to serve the Kenyan republic by its president, His Excellency Hon. Dr. William Samoei Arap Ruto. Godspeed, Kenya "She spoke.
Since she and the president have never gotten along, the message to him could be ironic. William Ruto has been using his authority to expel the four.
