Ndegwa claimed that rice stalls are filled with imported rice from Pakistan instead of Pishori rice from Mwea. He cursed the action terming it unfair to Mwea rice farmers for they face a lot of hardships.

Ndegwa Njiru tweeted, “My Mwea people I feel u,I feel your tears,I know the pain you undergo for you to place that plate of DELICIOUS PISHORI on our plates,I know the pain you feel when a government that PRIDE itself as a people’s centered government floods those RICE stalls with the IMPORTED PAKISTANS RICE.”
