Didmus Barasa was among Western region leaders who popularized William Ruto's presidential bid in the region during the electioneering period. He traversed different parts of Bungoma county and larger Western region wooing local residents to back Ruto's presidential bid.
Legislator Barasa is facing murder charges of his competitor's, Khaemba personal aide. He is charged of shooting and killing Khaemba's aide during the August general election.
