Kirinyaga First Gentleman's Message To The Nation Ahead Of Supreme Ruling On Monday.

Lawyer Kamotho Waiganjo and his wife kirinyaga governor Ann Waiguru.

The hearing of a case challenging the victory of president elect William Ruto ended on Friday with Lawyers representing petitioners and respondents making their final submissions.

Political analyst and kirinyaga first gentleman lawyer Kamotho Waiganjo has broken his silence on the happenings at the supreme court as kenyans wait for the ruling on Monday.

In his article appearing on the Saturday standard, the lawyer argues that the presentations by the petition lawyers portrayed Kenya's august 9 general election as a disaster.

He argues that Incase one is a visitor to Kenya, he or she may be persuaded to rule that the chairman IEBC Wafula chebukati is only fit for a firing squad.

"You would have concluded that Kenya is no more than a banana republic not the vibrant democracy that the supreme court proceedings confirm we are", said Waiganjo.

Nevertheless, Waiganjo took the opportunity to highlight the progress Kenya has made over the last couple of years.

He said it should not be forgotten that Kenya right now has seven governors out of 47 elected under the current constitution up from three who were elected in 2017.

He noted that in 2013 no Woman was elected to this position which is one of the most coveted in the country after the presidency.

However he said that there is need to solve the third gender issue that is yet to be resolved.

According to Waiganjo, the country is in the right trajectory because even women have been given space with quite a number discharging Mandate as cabinet secretaries and heads of key departments and Government agencies.
