Raila Finally Considered as Mt Kenya Tycoons Allegedly Identify The Next President, PM

Coalition and alliance talks and negotiations are already in progress ahead of the 2022 general elections, Jubilee Party Deputy Secretary General Joshua Kuttuny has revealed.

This comes at a time when political temperatures in the country are already on the rise, a year and a few months to the heavily awaited polls.

As a result, politicians have been seen coming out to declare their interest in their next preferred seats, the biggest debate being that one of the presidential seat.

Kuttuny has revealed that talks have been ongoing behind the scenes and some of those eyeing top positions are already discussing how to work together.

As a result, he says, Kenyans should prepare to see politicians allied to President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga all ending up in one alliance.

He told the People Daily on Monday that the push and pull currently being witnessed is normal, as the politicians are simply tying to popularize their names.

“What we have are people teaming up and trying to see if they can work together. They are jostling for positions. They want to make themselves relevant and put a price tag on themselves, which is the nature of Kenyan politics," he said.

The Cherangany MP stated that there will only be two horses in 2022; the Uhuru-Raila camp and the other one led by Deputy President William Ruto.

"The truth of the matter is that we will have coalitions, one that will be led by Uhuru and Raila on one side and Ruto on the other," he is quoted.

This comes amid reports that powerful and rich Mt Kenya individuals have already began putting together their lineup in readiness for the much awaited polls.

Their plan, the paper has established, includes having one of their own occupy the Prime Minister's seat should the proposed constitutional changes, which will see the executive expanded, be implemented.

They have reportedly identified former Gatanga MP Peter Kenneth as the best man for the seat, with former Kiambu governor William Kabogo also set to be given a top government post should the plan succeed.

Under this arrangement, the paper reports, ODM leader Raila Odinga will lead the camp, and will also work with among others, National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi and Kirinyaga governor Anne Waiguru.

Should this be the actual plan, then it will be the fulfilment of Raila's elder brother Oburu Oginga's earlier claim that the former Prime Minister will finally realize his long time presidential dream in 2022.

Speaking in their Bondo backyard in Siaya county last year, the EALA MP claimed that Raila has been winning but being denied his wins for being on the wrong side of the 'system', which is no longer the case.

Raila, however, remains silent on his 2022 plans.
