The race to succeed current Migori County Senator Hon Ochillo Ayacko has attracted six youthful aspirants who will battle it out in the general election that is coming in about 50 days. 
The incumbent Senator Hon Ayacko has shifted his political focus and will be vying for the Migori governorship post. Those keen to succeed him are Hon Billy Mijungu, Hon Eddy Oketch, Victor Okuna, Msambi Chacha and Hon Otieno Jacob Okumu. 
But who is likely to be elected the county's next Senator? This was answered by an opinion survey that was released by Mizani Africa, a firm that specializes in political research. After interrogating the residents of the county, it turned out that Eddy Oketch is the most popular Senatorial candidate in Migori County commanding a lead with 53.4%. 
He was followed by Msambi Chacha at 31.6 per cent, Otieno Jacob Okumu at 12.5%.
Others who were included in the survey to succeed outgoing Senator were Victor Okuna who garnered 0.9 per cent and Billy Mijungu at 0.6 per cent.
