"I Campaigned For You Hard, Raila & Karua Please Concede Defeat, " Raila's Ally Begs

Raila Odinga's ally Mugambi Nandi has asked Raila Odinga and Martha Karua to concede defeat in the just concluded general elections.

Nandi said that he has not seen any problem from the form 34A tallied by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission.

"Raila Odinga and Martha Karua, I campaigned very hard for you. I flew in from the UK to vote for you. Though I believe you were the better team, I haven’t seen a credible challenge to the numbers tallied from 34A forms. I think it’s in the country’s best interest that you concede," Mugambi Nandi wrote.

Raila Odinga, the presidential candidate of the Azimio La Umoja Coalition, rejected the results of the 2022 presidential election, in which William Ruto, the candidate of the UDA Party, was declared the victor.

Mr. Odinga informed the media on Tuesday afternoon that he would be heading to court to challenge the results, which he deemed invalid.

Wafula Chebukati, the chairman of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), was accused of breaking the Constitution and electoral regulations when he declared Ruto the president-elect.

"Wafula Chebukati and a minority of IEBC commissioners yesterday committed a flagrant violation of Kenyan law. The numbers released by Wafula Chebukati are invalid and must be overturned by a court of law. According to our assessment, there is no constitutionally declared president-elect ,"stated Odinga.

"Mr. Chebukati's purported pronouncement of the winner is invalid. He (Chebukati) acted with blatant contempt for the Constitution and our laws and with complete impunity,"he said.

Odinga asserts that Chebukati engaged in tyranny and committed a legal violation when he proceeded to announce the election results despite four IEBC commissioners rejecting them.
