President William Ruto has urged all Cabinet members including himself, deputy president Rigathi Gachagua, AG Muturi and all Cabinet secretaries to forego a one-month salary which will be channeled to draught response kitty to help mitigation of those affected by draught and hunger.
The Cabinet also pleaded with Kenyans and Well wishers from all over the world to join them and donate cash to aid those affected by the ongoing draught in the country.
This is after few days ago deputy president Rigathi Gachagwa pleaded to those who are salaried to contribute at least a small percentage from their salaries to the kitty.
Deputy president released a paybill number for draught mitigation response contributions, The number is 8890990, account number is contributors name. The kitty Paybill was launched by the deputy president and announced yesterday.
The money collected will help the affected families with food and other essential needs. It's said that the number of draught affected people is growing daily and it might increase by January.
