The former Kiambu County Governor Hon. William Kabogo have declared his interest on the big seat in the forthcoming 2022 general elections.
The Kiambu political heavyweight who command a massive follow up especially on the Central region has been doing round tours in the country, the recent tour being that of Laikipia county which left many speculating he might throw himself into the ring of national politics.
However, Kabogo had not declared the position he will seek in the next polls until February 14, 2021 when he declared he would be in the Presidential ballot.
He has been playing his political cards very well without alleging himself to either the Deputy President, or the President, working independently.
He has been out of the political spotlight after he lost to the previously impeached Governor Ferdinand Waititu.
However, he has maintained political relevance through engaging Kenyans through the media, where he has been seen analysing key issues affecting the Nation.
Many people had fronted his name as a suitable candidate for the prior anticipated Nairobi gubernatorial race. However, he never showed interest on the seat.
His declaration comes barely after Mukhisya also launched his interest on the big seat.
His move might have Raila Odinga and DP Ruto go back to their drawing board and strategize on effective political moves awing to the stiff competition expected.
