President William Ruto has received a morning shocker after his close allies from Western region publicly asked other MPs to oppose the bill on the basis of new taxation.
The MPs closed rank to side with their rivals in Azimio One Kenya saying the need was to protect the public.
Led by Ford Kenya Senator Wafula Wakoli, Kenya Kwanza allies said they will join Azimio to gang up against the bill.
Leaders from the two outfit were unified during a burial ceremony which Former Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa, Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa and Kakamega Deputy Governor Ayub Savula were present.
Savula took a swipe at Cotu secretary general Francis Atwoli, urging him to fight for workers. He urged the public to monitor their MPs and punish those who will vote for the proposed tax.
Wakoli wondered how long workers who earn below Sh20,000 and those who are ageing will contribute to that kitty to benefit.
Wamalwa said as Azimio they have agreed to reject the Finance Bill and urged MPs not to pass it for the welfare of Kenyan workers.
