Sifuna Gives His Stand As He Sides With North Rift Leaders To Blast Ruto's Gov't Directive On GMO

The newly elected Senator of Nairobi City County Honorable Edwin Sifuna who also doubles up as Secretary General of the Orange Democratic Movement party has reacted to the discussion of GMOs.

The administration of the 5th President of the Republic of Kenya Dr. William Samoei Arap Ruto has told Kenyans that they are concerned about food security to save Kenyans from the ravaging devastating effects of drought.

However, Hon Sifuna has come out having a contrary opinion about the GMO and Government's directive on GMO imports. He has claimed that the whole story is geared toward fighting farmers.

He has asked all the political leaders to stand with farmers as the Government is trying to import GMO Maize. He has sided with the rift Valley leaders on standing with maize farmers from Kitale, and Transzoia among other maize-growing areas.

He tweeted, "The commercial war between FARMERS and TRADERS has raged on for years in the Sugar belt. Sadly the sugar farmers lost that one. The GMO debate isn't about food security. It's the new frontier of this war between FARMERS and TRADERS. We must stand with our Maize Farmers".
