Owira gained popularity by then,receiving praises from many Kenyans, president Uhuru Kenyatta being no exception. Otonglo even advertised for a leading supermarket here in Kenya,as his fame grew bigger and better.
President Kenyatta therefore intervened in the disturbing lifestyle of the young artist,which saw the beginning of his amazing life story.
Otonglo mother's business was supported,courtesy of the president,Otonglo himself was offered scholarship upto tertiary level by the Kenyatta Foundation.
In December 18th 2020, Otonglo successfully completed his studies at the Multimedia University,and now life has been quite different.
Otonglo nolonger receives any kind of support from the Kenyatta Foundation as he now has to use his wits and talent to acquire his own money.
He is now independent,thanks to the Kenyatta Foundation,
"Many thought that being the President's "son" everything was just simple for me, I was not even allowed to access statehouse." Otonglo narrates.
Owira's touching lifestory is indeed a testimony to many,from a poor boy living in the slums to an independent University graduate with full academic scholarship, courtesy of talent.
