Samson Cherargei, the senator for Nandi County, has taken aim at Moses Kuria, the cabinet secretary for trade and industrialization. He claims that Kuria drinks or smokes only God knows what.
The statement by Senator Cherargei comes after there was confusion when CS Kuria ordered Kenyan farmers to sell all of their maize within 72 hours and import maize.
Despite this, Senator Cherargei expressed gratitude to the Minister of Agriculture, Mithika Linturi, for taking the stand that the cabinet had rejected the importation of 10 million bags of duty-free maize into the country.
"Thank you, CS @mithika_Linturi, for clarifying that the cabinet did not authorize the importation of 10 million duty-free bags of maize. Clean up the local maize first to protect the farmers. God knows what CS Kuria is smoking or drinking! Mbele mungu!"Added Senator Samson Cherargei.
These arguments arise as a result of Kenyans' opposition to GMO food.
