Kirinyaga Governor Ann Waiguru during an interview yesterday night hinted that she might consider running as an independent candidate. Despite that she also claimed that she is best suited to become a running mate for the Presidential race. Ann Waiguru until recently when she hinted of vying using UDA ticket has been supporting Raila's bid and BBI.
The 2022 elections is around the corner and leaders are now aligning themselves to where their interests are. Those who were vied as allies of a certain candidate are shifting to another candidate in unprecedented way. Ann Waiguru is poised to wrestle with Purity Ngitici for a UDA ticket ahead of 2022 elections. Sources indicates that Ngirici was not happy with Waiguru's move as she can topple her out in the run for the highly sort out ticket.
If Waiguru fails to clinch the UDA ticket she will run for the post as an independent something that will complicate the race if Martha Karua will also be on the race. Opinion polls have been indicating that Martha Karua is on the lead and Waiguru has been pushing her to national politics so that she can square out with Ngiricis.
