Rigathi Gachagua, a member of parliament from Mathira and the coalition's presidential running mate, has once more made a contentious statement by criticizing the Kalenjin community. The deputy presidential candidate for Dr. William Ruto, the deputy president, has taken aim at the Kalenjin group and accused its youngsters of being cattle rustlers.
Gachagua accused the youth of the Kalenjin community of stealing cows from their neighbors during his campaign event today in West Pokot county, as reported by The Star Newspaper. He urged them to stop the practice.
He made the case that the Kalenjin youngsters in the Rift Valley must put an end to the outmoded practice of cattle rustling by showing respect for their neighbors. Kenyans have reacted angrily to these remarks, denouncing Gachagua and criticizing it. Feel free to share your thoughts concerning this in the comments section.
