Residents in kiminini on Wednesday night torched down a campaign vehicle belonging to current member of Parliament Chris Wamalwa. This was after it was involved in a grisly accident which left a woman dead and a man badly injured.
Kiminini sub county police commander John Onditi confirmed the accident and said that the vehicle was driving at very high speed was heading to kitale from kiminini when it hit a woman who was roasting maize on the roadside. 
The woman died on the spot and the child who had accompanied her sustained injuries and was rushed to kiminini cottage hospital. Chris Wamalwa who is eyeing the Tans Nzoia gubernatorial seat confirmed the accident saying the vehicle belonged to his campaign trail. He sent out his condolences to the family and called for speedy investigations. 
The driver of the vehicle sustained serious injuries was rescued by the police who rushed him before the vehicle was set ablaze.
