Ahamednasir Reacts As Koome Faults Uhuru For Initiating Amendments To The Constitution.

The Chief justice martgat koome.

The Chief justice of the republic of kenya Martha koome has agreed with the ruling of the lower courts that indeed the president of the republic of kenya isn't allowed by law to initiate Constitutional amendment through Public initiative.

Speaking while rendering her verdict, Koome said that the President's decisions that led to the BBI Constitutional amendment through BBI betrays the fact that he clearly was involved.

According to Koome his involvement as a person perfoming the functions of the office of the president isn't permitted because he isn't a Wanjiku.

"I agree with courts that the President and state institutions are not permitted to initiate amendment of the Constitution through Popular initiative". She said.

The CJ went ahead to outline instances where president Uhuru's actions such as receiving the BBI task force report and issuing a communique on BBI underscored his direct involvement.

Reacting to Koome's ruling, city lawyer and senior Counsel Ahamednasir Mohamed hailed the ruling Predicting the death of BBI.

"BBI is dead, Uhuru could not commence a popular Initiative to ammend the Constitution as he is not a Wanjiku". He said.

However, Netizens who reacted to Ahamednasir's comment accused him of chery picking what suits him.

Babu: Don't cherry pick what suits your course. The "SUPREME" dismantling of the basic structure doctrine as upheld by CA and HC means BBI Reggae is back and the amendment process could now be reignited by any Wanjiku (Kamau, Onyango, Aden, Kiprotich etc). That's it @ahmednasirlaw.

Six more judges are set to read their judgements before the final Ruling is made.
