Francis Mugo, an aspiring politician, has accused Lamu Senator Anwar Loitiptip of harassing and kicking him at Manda Airport Jetty on Tuesday evening, just minutes after Deputy president William Ruto departed the Coast region for Nairobi.
Mr Mugo, aged 32, claims to have been injured on the eye, hand and hip, and goes further to accuse the Senator of trying to throw him into the Indian Ocean during the scuffle.
“He further harassed me by trying to throw me into the ocean at the jetty but I was lucky he didn’t succeed.”
Lamu county commander Mr Moses Muriithi confirmed of having reports of the incident, but said investigations are ongoing.
However, Senator Anwar dismissed Mugo's claims, terming them "malicious and incorrect."
The Senator went further to accuse Mugo of "gatecrashing" his event with DP Ruto.
Francis Mugo is among youths who've showed interest in vying for Lamu senatorial seat via UDA.
