Politics has been taking shape in recent days, with lawmakers traveling across the country in search of votes. Today, William Ruto landed in the backyard of one of his opponents. and was received by former Nairobi Deputy Governor Jonathan Mueke and Ben Muasya in Katheka, Kitui West. Mueke is eyeing Kitui gubernatorial seat and Ben Muasya hoping for the Kitui West MP seat. Other leaders present at the event are UDA chairman Johnson Muthama, Nimrod Mbai Mp Kitui East among others.
Dp Ruto met with different women from Kitui West to empower them. He stated that the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Party is set to cater to and empower all the hustlers from the grassroots. "We want to make a government that will cater for all the people, the main agenda will be giving our youths jobs and the women," Ruto said.
Ruto also disclosed that let no one deceives the Kenyans that creating top government seats will benefit them but empowering them from the grassroots will benefit them. Ruto donated a sum of one million Kenyan shillings which he called "kaindo kanini" meaning something small to help the women. Dp Ruto is expected to visit Kitui Central later where he will be empowering more residents and later to Migwani in Kitui West and will be back again on Sunday in Kiusyani in Kitui Rural.
