UDA Senators Reveals Why He Wants President Ruto to Reward Chebukati With State Job

Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) chairman Wafula Chebukati's term in office has come to an end but a section of Kenya Kwanza leaders wants him to be retained in the government.

Nandi Senator Samson Kiprotich Arap Cherargei has suggested that President William Ruto's government retains Chebukati in government by giving him a state job.

The lawmaker wants Wafula retained so that he continues serving Kenyans. According to Senator Kiprotich Arap Cherargei, Chebukati is a man who cannot be easily intimidated or blackmailed, adding that he cannot be swayed to betray his conscience and decision-making.

He believes if Ruto retains him in government, Chebukati is going to deliver

The Senator further alleged that former President Uhuru Kenyatta tried to blackmail Chebukati using the powers he had then, but reportedly failed.

"The outgoing IEBC Chair Wafula Chebukati should be appointed to govt to continue to serve Kenyans. He cannot be intimidated or blackmailed. he is a man with strong resolve he can't be swayed. Uhuru Azimio-OKA tried to sway him but they failed terribly in the last elections!" the Senator tweeted.

Chebukati is set to leave office after this term expired. While he believes that he did a commendable job, ODM leader Raila Odinga and his supporters maintain that Chebukati denied them the presidency.

Raila Odinga, in his recent media interviews, revealed that Wafula Chebukati is a let-down to the people of Kenya, particularly the voters, and that he deserves to be in jail serving a term.

President Ruto on the other hand believes that Wafula Chebukati stood his ground regardless of the intimidations he was getting from the state and saved the country by declaring the correct election results from the IEBC portal.
