Mutula Kilonzo Bold Message To Junet, Waweru On BBI Appeal To The Supreme Court As He Warns Of This


Makueni Senator Mutula Kilonzo Junior has break his silence on the appeal to the Supreme court by Attorney General Paul Kihara and the key promoters of the BBI including Raila's Close confidant also Suna East MP Junet Mohamed and President Kenyatta's ally Dennis Waweru.


Speaking to his twitter page, the One Kenya Alliance associate termed the move as important for jurisprudence and posterity, just days after 7 bench of Court of appeal presided by President David Musinga threw out the amendments.

However, the Senate Majority whip has warned, no one should create a scenarios that we have a crisis as a state, with less than a year left to next general election, where they (wiper) of Kalonzo Musyoka among the few to declare interest for top seat as quest for Kenyatta's Successor intensifies, because of the appeal or part of clauses in the bill.


According to him, the set date for next general election shouldn't be interfered with, urging Kenyans to prepare for elections on 9th August, 2022 as Jubilee government tenure of Uhuru Kenyatta and Deputy President William Ruto ends.

"The appeal to the supreme Court by the AG and promoters of the BBI is important for Jurisprudence and prosperity. However, no one should create an impression that we have crisis because of the appeal or clauses of the Bill. Lets prepare for elections on 9th August, 2022."


His sentiments has also left Kenyans on twitter in mixed series of reaction with, majority claiming the third appeal after previous High Court, Court of Appeal ruling won't go through, hence waste of resources.

This comes just a day after BBI proponent, Junet Mohamed, Dennis Waweru, Paul Mwangi among others Key informed, they will back the Attorney General appeal to the supreme court , a move that has brought criticism and division among Kieleweke members.


" As promoters of the BBI Bill, we have weighed the options, suggestions and reasons since Friday. We have come to the conclusion that there is need for this matter to proceed to the supreme Court." BBI Steering Committee said.
