The members of parliament (MPs) of Azimio la Umoja one Kenya have now raised a concern on the changing of the 2010 constitution.The Bill will bring on board Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka in the National Assembly as the holders of the official opposition office.
The proposed constitution change of Kenya bill gives Raila sweeping powers, where he can address the parliament once in a year. According to Article 92A section 3 of the proposed document, Raila and his deputy will be at liberty to employ their staff who will be paid by the government.
Members of Parliament allied to Azimio la Umoja have launched a fresh bid to amend the 2010 Constitution to create a powerful office of the official opposition leader and their deputy.
The referendum for this bill is required since it touches on the constitution structure and leadership which is identical to building bridges initiative. They said they this bill has worked in Jamaica, Fiji and Zambia.
