Kenyan media house Nation through its journalist Dan Mwangi interviewed Felix Orinda alias Dj Evolve. DJ Evolve was shot by controversial Embakasi East member of parliament Paul Ongili alias known as Babu Owino.
Babu Owino shot Evolve in one night club in Kilimani six months ago in full glare of witnesses and CCTV Cameras but no legal action is yet to be taken on him.
In the interview, Evolve opened on how his life drastically changed from a productive young man to now an infant like life where he depends on his mother for feeding and dressing. During the interview the emotions were so high leaving Netizens sympathizing with Evolve.
Following the interview, Netizens flooded social media to condemn the MP while calling on DCI and the police to take stern action towards the legislator. Below are some of the reactions;
@JosphatDavid Where are humanitarian groups or activists, you are sleeping. What the hell is this, anyone else is danger outside there. We are tired of oppression from people holding public offices. Demonstrations VIVA @DCI
@josekins if justice is anywhere in Kenya. Babu anafaa kuwa mahali amefungiwa akikula kokoto na mchanga kwa ratio ya 3:1... but ona sasa...
@Kellygitahi So many ordinary Kenyans have suffered under the hands of the political elite ranging from land grabbing, murder, intimidation etc Just like the George Floyd protests, the DJ Evolve shooting should be our turning point against political elite violence.
