Azimio leader Raila Odinga arrived in Mombasa on Thursday evening.He notified on his social media handles that he was in the coastal town and it was awesome being back home.
"Touchdown Mombasa, it feels awesome being back home.Happy New Year folks," he notified.
On Friday Mombasa governor Abdulswamad Sharif Nassir revealed that the Azimio leader had paid him a courtesy call at his office.Raila also met various high ranking Mombasa county government officials including the Mombasa senator Mohamed Faki and Jomvu MP Badi Twalib.
"Together with my Deputy H.E DG Francis Thoya the Speaker of the County Assembly of Mombasa, the Senator Hon. Mohamed Faki, Hon. Bady Twalib (Jomvu), the leadership of the County Assembly of Mombasa as well as the Honorable MCAs, we hosted our Party Leader H. E Raila Odinga when he paid me a courtesy call at my office," he said.
Governor Sharif Nassir expressed his commitment to the ideals of the Orange Democratic Movement(ODM) party that would enable a unified and prosperous Mombasa county.
"As a Governor elected on the platform of ODM, I am committed to delivering on our promise of a unified county that is prosperous and well governed as espoused by our party ideals," the govenor stated.
