Today, Kakamega Governor Fernandes Barasa met with President William Rutoand and his Deputy Rigathi Gachagua at State House, Nairobi. He was accompanied by Kakamega senator Boni Khalwale and MP Mululu.
Taking to his Twitter account hours later after the meeting, the governor disclosed mega project worth Ksh 8 billion handed over to the National Government. He said, "the Ksh 8 billion Kakamega Teaching and Referral Hospital which was handed over to the National government this year tops the list of projects that will benefit from our cooperation with the National Government."

The hospital serves thousands of people each day from both the county and from other regions. Ministry of Health was devolved in 2010 and most hospitals are now under the cou ty government leadership.
