Former IEBC chair Hon Wafula Chebukati and his team have won big after African Ombudsman and Mediators’ Association (AOMA) lauded them for their professional handling of the polls, especially the Presidential Election declared president Ruto as the winner. While presenting an award to the electoral commission, AOMA affirmed that the IEBC conducted the election in a transparent, independent and impartial manner without siding with anyone.

In addition to this, the report that was handed over to the IEBC Chief Executive Officer Hon. Hussein Marjan by the Chairperson of Kenya's Commission on Administrative Justice & the Secretary General of the African Ombudsman & Mediators' Association Hon. Florence Kajuju observed that IEBC facilitated mandate of political party agents, media & observers.

Despite Raila Odinga's claims of lack of transparency in the presidential election, IEBC has bagged International Award for conducting elections in a transparent way.
