Governors Wycliffe Ambetsa Oparanya of Kakamega county and Ali Hassan Joho of Mombasa have received a major boost after the Vihiga county governor supported their bid of seeking the mandate to fly the ODM presidential ticket in the forthcoming general elections.
Ottichilo has said that the Orange Democratic Movement party constitution allows anybody to run for the presidency and therefore it is within the rights of the two governors to run.
"Gov. Wilberforce Ottichilo : Katiba ya chama cha ODM inaruhusu mtu yoyote kuwania urais kwa hivyo Joho na Oparanya wako na haki" K24
The first-term governor will be seeking to retain his Vihiga gubernatorial seat despite having fallen out with his deputy Hon Dr. Patrick Saisi. Sources within the orange party also indicate that the governor has fallen out with key stakeholders who are skimming to have former county secretary Hon Francis Ominde Flythe ODM gubernatorial ticket in Vihiga.
The Vihiga gubernatorial seat has however attracted the young vibrant businessman Hon Alex Kidake of Ford Kenya who is tipped to be giving both ANC and ODM sleepless nights.
What is your take on this? Oparanya, Joho Or Raila?
