Tujibebe Party leader and former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo has finally cut off ties with Deputy President William Ruto's Kenya Kwanza alliance after weeks of a standoff.
The political standoff that was experienced between UDA's Kimani Wamatangi and William Kabogo over a couple of days ago seems to have taken toll after the former Kiambu boss finally decided to cut ties with the DP Ruto led Kenya Kwanza. Kabogo and Chama Cha Kazi party leader Moses Kuria decried frustration from the UDA party where they said that they were being disrespected and frustrated especially during joint rallies.
Kabogo has since gone silent on Kenya Kwanza rallies where he was seen over the week doing solo campings in the Kiambu County. While confirming his decision during an interview with a local TV station, Kabogo said that he has stopped campaigning for DP Ruto and he will be telling his voters to vote anyone of their choice for president.
“Life has to go on. I am now focusing on my campaign for Kiambu Governor. There are several presidential candidates and some of these things are a blessing in disguise. I was in Githurai today, I asked them to vote for their preferred candidate but vote me in as the governor,” Kabogo said.
While lamenting the mistreatment of small parties by UDA, Kabogo further expressed his regrets for joining the Ruto-led coalition. He also said that some people had cautioned him about the move but he didn't listen.
