Cabinet Secretary for Interior security Dr Fred Matiang'i is under siege after a number of Mps signed a petition to impeach him. The members of parliament drawn from Orange Democratic Movement and those from TangaTanga wing allied to Deputy President William Ruto have reached 50 so far.
Fred Matiangi has been seen as a threat to both William Ruto and ODM leader Raila Odinga in their quest for presidency ahead of the 2022 elections.
According to reliable sources on Twitter, Dr Matiangi's brutal use of powers as seen in the recent Bonchari , Rurii Ward, & Juja By elections and his closeness to the president could the the force behind the unity among the MPs.
The identity of the 50 Members of parliament who have signed the petition has not yet been be clear as sourced indicate many fear the wrath of President Kenyatta if the petition attempts fail to materialize.
