Pamoja African Alliance is slowly gaining ground. PAA was registered as a political party on October 18 succeeded by Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi. It has been observed that Amason Kingi’s party could complicate matters for William Ruto and Raila Odinga in August polls.
According to the standard, Mr Kingi has been working behind the scenes to popularise PAA to take on ODM and UDA in the August 9 elections. Reports reveal that Kingi has 29 MCAs working closely with him including Magarini MP Michael Thoya.
“He has many MCAs in his camp and they are the first contact on the ground. If Kingi delivered for ODM, he can deliver for PAA. He can also deliver for any presidential candidate in Kilifi,” Says Political analyst Maimuna Mwidau, adding that she noted that Kingi is currently working with the same zeal he had in ODM
Political observers say that Kingi is keen to consolidate support in his bedroom before shifting to other regions noting that Kingi has concentrated more on Kilifi politics
Here is a list of Leaders seeking to succeed Kingi:
1. Gideon Mungaro-Devolution Chief Administrative Secretary
2. Gideon Saburi-Deputy governor
3. Aisha Jumwa-Malindi M,P
