The August elections are almost with few days remaining. The most formidable coalitions are Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Coalition and Kenya Kwanza Alliance. The Azimio Coalition is led by the Rt. Hon. Raila Amollo Odinga and the Kenya Kwanza Alliance is led by Dr. William Samoei Ruto. The two teams have been transversing the whole country looking for votes and away of getting maximum representation in both houses of Parliaments.
Today (4th July 2022), the local TV station conducted an online opinion polls on candidates for Gubernatorial race in Kilifi County. The results reveals that, the ODM Member of Parliament of Malindi Constituency who is now in Kenya Kwanza is leading in the race with 65 percent. Gideon Mung'aru who is seeking to inherit the top seat using ODM ticket under Azimio-Oka Coalition is second with 31 percent. George Kithi who a close relative of the incumbent Governor Hon. Kingi is third with 3 percent on a PAA party ticket. The last person Mr. Alphonce Mbaru enjoys a popularity of 2 percent.
The leading Kenya Kwanza candidate Aisha Jumwa is good news to Dr. William Samoei Ruto who has been in the County several times. It's also bed news to the Azimio-Oka Coalition which has enjoyed the support for the last years. Generally, Kilifi, Mombasa, Kwale, Lamu are among the four counties that Raila Odinga has as his stronghold.
