The president listened keenly to the advice from the Inspector General of Police clearly demonstrating of his focus. The president has warned that the peace of the country must take first priority and that's why his government is focused on police

The president appointed Japheth Koome as the Inspector General of Police and bypassed several other officers. The president has been keen to create a good working relationship with the police service but also ensure that they perform their duties professionally.

The president has largely warned against matters extrajudicial killings especially of innocent civilians. The president has explained that his aim and desire is to ensure that the rule of law thrives.
