The former prime minister Raila Odinga on Wednesday narrated the circumstances that led to his loss on august 9 presidential election.
Speaking on Wednesday, Raila recounted that on august 15 2022, he was called by independent electoral and boundaries commission chairman Wafula chebukati to discuss the results that he was about to announce.
According to Raila, he tried to ask for the details of the discussions and the results but chebukati refused to reveal the results.
He said how initially the chairman said he was tired hence retiring to bed at 12 am only for him to return at 9 pm.
Raila alleged that during this time, other commissioners were busy tallying the results but immediately the chair arrived, he dismissed what other commissioners were doing and came up with another set of results saying they were the correct ones having been prepared by his assistant.
"We asked him where he got the results from but he summarily ignored us without giving any audience to us," Raila lamented saying that Chebukati just came with predetermined results from home.
Raila then allegedly pleaded to see him Before announcing the results but he refused and even ignored the advise of other commissioners.
A majority of kenyans who reacted to Raila's Allegations termed them as lies.
Ekeza: this is a big joke, I am wondering how people can buy such lies.
Chris: may be this time we actually lost.
